Here are a few simple things you can do to properly care for your plants:

  • Water each plant as recommended for its variety and ambient conditions;
  • Water plants sufficiently to dampen all of the soil;
  • Leave excess water in the drainage saucer for about two hours;
  • Rotate plants each time you water them;
  • Check soil dampness two or three times per week;
  • Add fresh potting soil on a regular basis;
  • Follow recommendations for proper light and use 20-20-20 plant food monthly between March and September;
  • Never purchase plants from vendors located in large commercial properties during the winter – they’ll freeze in the parking lot on your way to your car;
  • Never leave plants in a parked car.
