Here are a few simple things you can do to properly care for your plants:
- Water each plant as recommended for its variety and ambient conditions;
- Water plants sufficiently to dampen all of the soil;
- Leave excess water in the drainage saucer for about two hours;
- Rotate plants each time you water them;
- Check soil dampness two or three times per week;
- Add fresh potting soil on a regular basis;
- Follow recommendations for proper light and use 20-20-20 plant food monthly between March and September;
- Never purchase plants from vendors located in large commercial properties during the winter – they’ll freeze in the parking lot on your way to your car;
- Never leave plants in a parked car.
